What is the difference between Pre-Launch and Governing?
Pre-Launch is a free base state for candidates who haven't started active campaigning yet — it gives you basic donor and event tracking to get organized. Governing is the paid monthly tier for elected officials, with the full feature set for your office level (ward, constituency, county, etc.). You move from Pre-Launch to Governing once you win office; you can also stay on Pre-Launch indefinitely while preparing to run.
What is the Campaign Bundle?
The Campaign Bundle is a time-limited overlay (3, 6, 12, or 18 months) you purchase on top of whichever base state you're in — Pre-Launch or Governing. It activates election-day agent tools, mobile Form 32-39A capture, canvassing maps, and a large increase in your SMS allowance for the duration you buy. Which pricing tier is right for my race?
Tiers map to office level: Ward (MCA), Constituency (MP), Woman Representative, Senator, and Governor. Each tier includes more team members, higher constituent limits, and more communication channels as the office scope grows. Presidential/national campaigns aren't self-serve — contact us for a bespoke arrangement.
Can I try Tano Tena for free?
Yes — the Pre-Launch state on every tier is free with no time limit, giving you basic donor and event tracking while you build your campaign. You only pay once you activate a paid state (Governing) or purchase a Campaign Bundle.
Is my campaign's data shared with other campaigns on the platform?
No. Every campaign runs on its own separate, isolated database — not shared tables. See our Security page for details.
What is white-labeling and the site builder?
Both are paid add-ons available on top of any tier. White-labeling lets you use your own custom domain with your campaign's logo and brand color instead of a Tano Tena subdomain. The site builder lets you publish your own public-facing pages. Both are purchasable from within the platform once you've signed up.
How do payments work?
Subscription payments and donation tracking both run through M-Pesa. Campaign Bundles and the monthly Governing subscription are billed the same way.
What happens if I stop paying?
Each plan includes a grace period after a missed payment before access is restricted, giving you time to resolve billing issues without losing access mid-campaign.
