Why density matters for field planning
Station density drives field operations in three ways: volunteer recruitment (you need more bodies to cover more ground), transport logistics (urban stations may be walkable, rural stations may require vehicle deployment), and polling-station agent coverage (every station needs at least one agent on election day).
Do not assume voter density equals station density. Nairobi has the most voters overall, but some high-voter counties like Nakuru have fewer stations because they cover larger geographic areas with smaller catchments per station.
What this means for your campaign
If you are running in a high-station county like Nairobi or Kiambu, field structure must be decentralized—ward coordinators with authority over their zone, station captains who know their catchment, and a reporting chain that surfaces problems quickly. In low-station counties, structure can be flatter, but geographic distance becomes the bigger challenge.
